I'm currently confused with my internship - whether or not to change hotel. I know, I sounded like a spoilt brat, cannot take harship, whiny, irritating or what-so-ever. But I'm seriously thinking - what's the point of holding on to the hotel when I know I may not be learning much thing neither expecting too much from that hotel.
- I have no trainer to train me, at the most the Chef De Partie who taught me how to do omelette and explain how the Kitchen works.
- Chefs in the kitchen is pretty much fucked up. All straight-faced. Minimum communication. Got to face the CB Stinky Fucked Up chef everyday.
- Most of the times I have nothing to do, and I did ask the chef is there is anything for me to do. Pretty much a waste of my time.
- The only Buffet in the whole of the entire hotel has no Live Station, except Breakfast Egg Station which means lesser things to learn. For your info, the longest bench is just 24 steps only [ 24 x 8 inch (my shoe size) ].
- Afternoon shift is worst - absolute nothing to do. absolute waste of time.
- Hotel is Local Based. Nothing much of Western food in the Kitchen I am working at - at most all food like Pasta and Burger.
- No plating. I couldn't learn more about plating.
- May not be going to the ONLY fine-dining restaurant in the hotel.
- Working Environment - from Locker to Staff Lounge to toilet is really Bad!
- Until today I've yet to seen a Crustacean, let alone Lobster, hold on is Lobster head considered?
Seriously , this hotel isn't attractive right? Why on the world did I choose that hotel. There's so many things going on in my mind - my complain may sound absurb since I am just 2 weeks there, they may just push me back. But I seriously doesn't enjoy every since bits of my time there, it's really hard to survive in the kitchen with miscommunications and minimal communications. The Kitchen is not to my advantages. Even the Senior asked me to leave for a better hotel. But my friends are asking me to hold on and stay strong. I guess this isn't much about staying strong and holding on right? I paid 8K for my education in school and suppose to get my hands-on training in the industry, I mean - trainee need to be in the appropriate training ground to be trained. Right? I'm really confused right now. I don't know how to put my feelings and thoughts into words. All I know is that I want to get out of there. *headache*. It's pretty ironic to see full time employee doing lesser and lighter work than trainee when they get higher pay than trainee. hurhurh.
