i think it worth some thinking..

ITE
Institute of Technical Education

this post below may sound RUDE. But, it's just another thought of mine. If you are unhappy with it. Just keep it to yourself.

As usual, I just want to COMPLAIN! You know, that's Singaporean!

Choa Chu Kang, for your information, it's a housing estates located at the West side of Singapore. Since it's a housing estates, there are bound to have many. Wait! ALOT of people living within Choa Chu Kang. Transportation would be a problem, cause the pathetic SMALL LRT train would be packed during peak hours. Buses towards the town and working estates would be packed (not that extremely pack). In addition, the buses do not come frequently, probably around 8 - 10 minutes?

Not too long ago, a new ITE is born! Which means to say, there will be another LARGE group of people taking the trains and buses to Choa Chu Kang area, sharing the same LRT, squeezing like some dumb fish in the train.

Thanks to these new group of people travelling to Choa Chu Kang area..
  1. the LRT station is cramped like some SHIT STUFF and hinder the human traffic movement.
  2. the Bus is PACKED! I missed at least 2 bus a day because I can't get into the BUS!
  3. I get LATE for school because I missed the fucking Bus, thus I've to wake up earlier!

I am not targeting anyone here. But there's a few things I got to say.

1. Increasing in the number of ITE in Singapore.

Let's think. ITE is commonly known as ' it's the End '. Obviously not. However, isn't it something worth concerning about when the number of institute in Singapore is increasing, which means that the Standard in Students are dropping? It could be just simly afew subjects just like Mathematics and English that they failed resulted in them landing up in ITE.

Is increasing in the number of ITE in Singapore going to do any good to the students. So what about the future, is the Institute going to be more than Polytechnics and Junior College? Let's be pratical, which students in Singapore would dream about going to ITE, maybe just those minority of those Minority. Every studenst would want to go to Polytechnics or even Junior College.

Ministry of Education should start to do something. More opportunities should be given to these students and NOT ' FOLLOW ACCORDING TO THE RESULT '. For goodness sake.

there are ways that I thought maybe it could help.
  • Low the Cut-Off point for all courses in Poly. Make it more Flexiable.

I think this is where the root of the problem lies at. Because of the high demand and criteria to get into the desire course in Polytechnics, students are left with no choice but to end up in ITE. For instance, probably a student might had done badly for his Mathematics, but pretty well for the other subjects, why not try considering whether to take the students in with a condition behind - to retake the 'O' Level Examination for that particular subject.

Maybe this ideas are now in use, but I don't see how frequent is it being used. It seems like immediate rejection because of a student failing either Mathematics or English. Ridiculous. What's Higher Nitech for since it is still in ITE!

Polytechnics should try to lower their cut-off points. A students with Good Grade may NOT be someone who will be successful in this course, but the skilled and interested ones. At the same time, if the students are considering to take the course, Polytechnics should be considering the interest and the attitude in their school, STOP BEING RESULT BIASE!

  • Other than getting into Polytechnics through Results, Polytechnic should start to welcome Schools' recommendation letters and take it into considerations.

If a school or teacher is willing to write a recommendation for a student, it definitely shows that the teachers are giving supports to that particular students and believe that the students would be doing well in that course. Shouldn't it be the case?

  • School should not be taking the student's Behaviour too seriously, cause no one's attitude is PERFECT, even Teachers and Principal!

No one's behaviour is perfect. Come on, every one do change. Even the student with good manners may changed into a babarian somedays. Just take behaviour into consideration and it should NOT be the main reason for rejecting a student!

If a school can be so detailed and looked into the behaviour of the students, I believe that the School should also have that free time to asked the teachers about the students preformance in school.

  • a Normal Technic Students should also be given an opportunity to get into Polytechnics.

Stop being so biase and think that students from NT are stupid and playful. Some are really hardworking but just simply COULD NOT PASS their EXAM. Why not Polytechnic be nice to them and give them an opportunity to try out the courses in Polytechnics!

2. The Mindset and the Result of the Students.

If a student is determine to study well, the student should be putting in effort to their things well. Study are part and parcel of everyone's Life. You cannot escape from them. Since You cannot accept, why not TRY TO DO IT WELL AND GIVE AT LEAST A PASS, and You all know that this bloody 'O' Level certifcate is going to follow You for the rest of your Life! Damn It!

3. Transportations are my MAIN COMPLAIN!

So now what?! Just because I complained that the Fucking MRT is so slow and Stuff ( Read Here ), so you decided to decrease the number of Bus in the morning and drive slowly to 'collect' passagers in the Bus-stop. (I know You don't understand) In short, Bus are taking longer than usual to reach bus stop. 10 minutes plus for a freaking Bus during peak hours and 45 minutes plus for a Freaking Bus in a tourist spot!

Can't the SMRT organisation and ITE coorperate and provide Buses at Lot1 Bus Interchange to pick those students up and NOT FILLING THE LRT STATIONS WITH PEOPLE! Likewise, increase the number of BUS , especially 187 on the road to PICK ME UP!

Fuckaggot!

Do something about it! STOP BUIDLING ITE!

p/s: " It's knda stupid that ITE taught almost the same things as what Polytechnic is teaching, why not those ITE students go Polytechnic instead! DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT PEOPLE! ITE certificate is not well-received by Bosses! "

that's it! BOO!

if you have difficulty reading, I have difficulty typing!
